Every honest answer.
How the AI works, how disputes get settled, how gigs get posted, and why SONNY exists at all. Straight from the people who built it.
How SONNY AI works
SONNY AI, matching, and what the AI can (and can't) do.
For workers, it reads your work profile (CDL class, endorsements, certifications, experience) and helps you find gigs that fit, spots gaps in your profile, and walks you to the right listing. Employers have their own SONNY AI for their gigs and applicants. It sticks to trucking, warehousing, freight, and supply-chain work; ask it for movie reviews and it will steer you back to gigs.
It works inside the employer app. Ask it about your open gigs, your applicants, live loads, and your hiring numbers, get help writing a clearer gig post, or have it draft a short message to an applicant that you review and send yourself. It does not hire, turn down, or message anyone on its own. Every hiring decision stays with you.
In two stages. First, hard requirements filter: if a gig needs a credential you don't hold, or yours is expired, the gig doesn't reach you, and nothing can buy that back. Then SONNY orders the gigs that pass by fit, mainly extra endorsements and years in the role, and tells you in plain words why a gig fits. Compliance is never traded off for a better match, and employers make every hiring decision.
No. SONNY surfaces matches and gets you to the listing in one tap, but you are always the one who applies. Today you apply in the app; applying by text message comes at launch. Nothing goes out in your name without you.
Your work profile: name, city and state, CDL class, endorsements, years of experience, and certifications, plus the messages in the chat and the gigs and applications it looks up to answer you. It does not get your email, phone number, date of birth, license numbers, SSN, or bank details. Your messages go to our AI provider to produce the replies. The Privacy Policy lists exactly what is sent.
SONNY deletes each chat from your account 14 days after it starts, even if you keep chatting in it. You can delete a chat sooner from your chat list. Our AI provider keeps its own records of conversations under its own retention policy, which the Privacy Policy explains.
It tells our team which replies helped and which missed, so we can fix the ones that missed. You can add a short note if you want. We keep the vote; the note is cleared after 90 days and deleted if you erase your account. A vote never changes your profile or your matches.
Sí. The whole platform, including SONNY AI, runs in English and Spanish, and you can switch anytime.
At launch. Workers spend their day in cabs, yards, and warehouses, not in front of a laptop, so you'll be able to text SONNY to see fresh gigs and apply, with no app or fast connection needed. Text apply is built and switches on at launch.
Disputes, proof & payments
How you get paid, and what happens when something is contested.
At launch, payouts go out weekly by direct deposit to you or your business. If you work through a staffing agency, its payroll pays you on its own schedule. During this pre-launch period payouts are simulated: the app tracks your hours and earnings, but no money moves yet.
Proof is built into the shift itself. Workers photograph the sealed trailer lock, the Bill of Lading, and the Proof of Delivery as gates between shift phases, so by the time a gig ends, the evidence trail already exists. Hours are computed on our servers from your clock-in and clock-out, never typed in by either side after the fact.
Your time records can't quietly disappear: raw time entries are never edited or deleted, and a correction is recorded alongside the original, on the record. Support reviews the clock data and the proof photos and resolves from evidence, not from whoever shouts loudest.
It keeps counting. Time tracking survives lost signal, page reloads, even a dead battery: your shift syncs the moment you're back online, and the app tells you if anything is still waiting to sync.
Only while you're on the clock. When you clock in, the app shares your location with that gig's employer so they can follow the load, and sharing stops when you clock out. SONNY keeps live gig location for 30 days after the gig ends, longer only if it's held for a dispute.
Funds flow through the platform to the verified business entity you work under, in one payment stream, then to you per your arrangement with them. Payouts and 1099s start at launch; today the app shows what you've earned as you go.
Ratings come at launch. The plan is double-blind: neither side sees the other's rating until both have submitted, so nobody rates defensively, and new workers start from a neutral footing, not the bottom of the pile.
Posting gigs
For employers: the wizard, screening, and time-to-hire.
A guided six-step wizard: the basics (headline and type of work), the details, every stop with its date and time, the requirements (license class, endorsements, whose truck), the pay for the whole gig, then a final review before you post. Start from a template or repost a past gig and you're done in minutes; a gig you leave half-written stays in your drafts. Editing a gig re-opens the same wizard pre-filled, so there's one flow to learn.
Every credential a gig requires (CDL, medical card, TWIC, forklift cert, insurance) is reviewed by our team and expiry-tracked. When a credential lapses, the worker drops out of the matchable pool automatically until it's renewed. You only see people who clear your gig's actual requirements.
Business verification at onboarding: EIN, DOT and MC numbers checked against federal carrier records, plus document review. Sign up and explore the platform right away. Publishing your first gig waits until your business is cleared, so workers see verified businesses, not burner accounts.
Matching starts as soon as your gig publishes, against verified, available workers nearby. How fast someone applies depends on the lane, the pay, and who's around; an urgent gig can add a boost to stand out.
Joining, verifying your business, and browsing workers cost nothing. When you build a gig in the posting wizard, its full cost is itemized line by line before you publish, so you approve the exact numbers first. No subscriptions, no seat licenses, no recruiter commissions.
That's what fleet teams are for, and they arrive at launch: workers you've hired before get surfaced first on your next posts, so a good working relationship carries over instead of resetting every gig.
Why SONNY exists
The rationale: why logistics, why SMS, why not a staffing agency.
Because generic job boards treat a HazMat-endorsed Class A driver and a barista as the same row in a database. Logistics work is credentialed, time-critical, and high-volume. It deserves matching that understands what a TWIC card is, when a med card expires, and why an empty backhaul costs money.
Because the people we serve are on loading docks and in truck cabs, not at desks. A text message loads on one bar of signal, costs almost no data, and gets read. If the platform only works with a fresh phone and strong LTE, it doesn't work for this workforce.
No. SONNY is the marketplace, never the employer. Work runs through verified businesses (staffing agencies, carrier fleets, or your own operating entity), and the platform is honest about worker classification instead of pretending the question doesn't exist.
No recruiters, and no markup hidden between you and the rate. Employers post what the gig pays and workers see that number. Verification, matching, time-tracking, and payouts are software, so the humans you talk to are support, not gatekeepers.
No fees to sign up or apply. Before you accept a gig, the app shows exactly what you'll take home. Employers see each gig's full cost, line by line, in the posting wizard before anything publishes.
About SONNY
Who we are, where we operate, and how to reach a human.
An AI-powered gig marketplace for supply-chain and logistics workers: matching, verification, time-tracking, and payouts (weekly, at launch) in one place, in English and Spanish.
Across the lower 48 United States. Coverage is deepest around freight corridors, ports, and warehouse hubs, and grows with every fleet that joins.
We're in pre-launch. Workers can build a verified profile and start matching, and employers can verify their business and post gigs. Payouts are simulated until launch, and text apply, ratings, and 1099s arrive at launch. Join from the homepage and you're in the flow in about a minute.
Yes. Open SONNY in your phone's browser and add it to your home screen (on iPhone: Share, then Add to Home Screen; on Android: Install app in the browser menu). It opens full screen like any app. Without signal, screens you opened recently still load, your shift timer keeps running, and messages you send wait and go out when you're back online. Finding new gigs and chatting with SONNY AI need a connection.
Use the contact section on our homepage to send your message to the right team: inquiries, tech support, care, or billing. A real person replies by email, usually within one business day.
Right here on the site: Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Insurance Requirements each have their own page, marked as drafts while counsel review completes. The Privacy Policy has a section on AI: what SONNY AI sends to our AI provider, why, and how long chats are kept. No 40-page PDF scavenger hunts.
